I went to Rome last week with my husband – it was my first time to be in Rome, I am sure that there will be many more beautiful places to visit but we didn’t have enough time to visit all of those because we had only 3 nights for our trip there. So we have organized a very busy schedule for visiting around 10 places. Well, I will write other places in next post.
First of all, I would like to suggest you to buy the Roma Pass so you can save a lots of times – it costs 36€ for 3 days (With the Roma Pass you can use all the metro, bus and tram – enter the Colloseum and the Roman Forum faster by skipping the long line. The pass is also included with the entrance of the Terme di Caracalla – which I will write in detail in next post. Well, I was with the pass but it also took me around 10 mins to enter the Colloseum.
Second, if you go by plane and you should go to center of Rome by bus because the cost is cheaper than the train. We took bus from airport to the center of Rome which costed 4€. (But with your Roma Pass you can get more discount by showing them your pass.) I didn’t buy the round trip tickets so when I came back to airport – I spent 6€ so I suggest you to buy the round trip ticket at airport in case you would like to save some €…just my idea 🙂
Third, with the restaurants – you have to be careful with the price since I have experienced that. In Italy, some restaurants, coffee bars – they might charge you more when you sit on the table so be aware how to pay them. I and my husband were charged 16€ for two cups of cappuccino.
We found one restaurant, Ristorante Trattoria Pizzeria, Il Condor, near the Termini train station in via Daniele Manin which was really cheap and the foods were good for us with the menu 10€ – you can have 2 selected dishes, cake and a bottle of water. It’s just so closed to the Colloseum.
Our first day visit was at the Colloseum since we arrived around midday already. I was really excited to see it through my eyes. It’s just so so much amazing.
