The statue of San Carlo, Arona, Italy

The liberty statue of San Carlo stands near the town of Arona, close to the southern end of Lake Maggiore. It’s on the hilltop which you can go by walking or car. It’s just around 23km from Milan Malpensa Airport.

The bearing framework is composed of blocks of stones from Angera and rises up to the shoulder height of San Carlo. The steel cage, where the copper plates have been fastened, is then coupled to this support. Absolutely, the statue can be accessed inside by the folding of the rochet and from there through climbing winding stairs and steep vertical stairs up the head, where you can enjoy splendid views on the lake and its surroundings through the eyes of the Saint and the noses. The total height of the statue is 35m.
